2023: ‘Wike Didn’t Respect Zoning In Rivers State When He Was To Become Governor’

A spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council, Charles Aniagwu has knocked the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike over his continued demand that zoning of party positions be implemented.

Aniagwu who spoke on Friday stated that when Wike was to become the Governor of Rivers State in 2015, he never considered the fact that he is from the same region as his predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi.

He further countered the Rivers State Governor, stressing that the PDP zoning formula can’t be compared with that of the All Progressives Congress (APC) because the last person to become president in the party, Goodluck Jonathan, was from the south.

The submissions by Aniagwu come amidst the crisis rocking the PDP over the insistence by Wike since the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate that Iyorchia Ayu must resign as the PDP National Chairman and be replaced by a southerner.

Commenting on the trending issue, Aniagwu said during an interview on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), that Wike has no moral right to make such demands.

2023: I Wasn’t Surprised Atiku Picked Okowa As His Running Mate – Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has said he wasn’t surprised that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate.

Naija News reports that the governor made this known while speaking at a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Friday.

The governor stated that he was aware of the underground moves by the Delta governor before the PDP presidential primaries, stressing that he expected good sense to prevail in the party.

He said Okowa was the only South-South governor who didn’t buy a nomination form to vie for the presidency or a senatorial seat and that might have been a pointer to his undeclared ambition.

Who Will Suspend Me? Wike Dares PDP On National Television

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has boasted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not have the capability to suspend him from the party.

He made the boast on Friday during a live interview with journalists at the government house in Port Harcourt, the state capital

Questioned during the interview if some of his actions and demands won’t be termed by the PDP leadership as anti-party activities, Wike responded that he can’t be suspended.

Though he was quick to clarify that he is not claiming to be bigger than the party, the Rivers State Governor insisted that he can’t be suspended.

Wike Predicts Only Way Atiku Can Win 2023 Presidency

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike said during a live interview on Friday, that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, can only win the 2023 election after sweeping the votes from Rivers, Lagos and Kano States.

Naija News reports that Wike said this after declaring during his interactive session with Channels TV today that he is not withdrawing from PDP as rumoured in some quarters.

The party chieftain reassured that he would support Atiku in the presidential election despite being at loggerheads.

However, Wike at the live media chat with journalists on Friday at the Government House In Port Harcourt, said it was impossible for Atiku to clinch the nation’s number one political position without winning massively in Lagos, Kano and Rivers.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has shown that the opposition party is arrogant and taking Nigerians for granted.

Resign If You Truly Love Atiku, PDP Stakeholder Tell Ayu

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu has been charged to resign from office if he wants the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar to win in 2023.

The camp of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in the last months have asked Ayu to resign from office as part of its demands to work for Atiku’s presidential ambition.

Governor Wike’s camp in its displeasure over Ayu’s decision to remain in office decided to pull out of the presidential campaign party.

Atiku in his reaction to their decision said Ayu can only be removed from office in line with the party’s constitution.

A former minister in a chat with Daily Independent on Thursday said 70 percent of the leaders of the party want Ayu to step down.

According to the former minister, Ayu has failed to manage the post-convention crisis, adding that he is responsible for the multiple crises in 12 states.

He lists the states as Edo, Ebonyi, Lagos, Kano, Delta, Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ekiti, Imo, Akwa Ibom and Rivers.

The BoT member said the PDP will not defeat APC if the likes of Wike, Makinde and others pull out of the campaign.

I Saw This Coming – Fani-Kayode Writes Wike, Aggrieved PDP Members

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), has written an epistle to pry into the crisis rocking Nigeria’s main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In the epistle published on his self-branded website, FFK sympathized with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and other PDP chieftains aggrieved by the events happening in the opposition camp after the party’s national convention.

2023 Presidency: Ajulo Tells Peter Obi What To Do To Get ‘Northern Support’

A Nigerian attorney, Kayode Ajulo has urged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, (LP) Peter Obi to reach out to critical stakeholders across the country, particularly in the northern part before election campaign sets in.

Ajulo who lamented the unseriousness of the former Governor of Anambra state towards the northern part, disclosed that some Northern governors are willing to support Obi, but observed that the LP candidate is not making efforts to involve the northern part in his presidential quest.

Ajulo made this known in an interview with newsmen in Abuja on Friday, where he urged Peter Obi to take advantage of the time before real electioneering campaigns begin and reach out to the northern part of the country.

He further urged Mr Obi to move beyond southern Nigeria and reach out to the northern part, as “selling himself to the people of northern extraction may change the narrative.’

2023 Presidency: Wike Reveals Main Cause Of PDP Crisis

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has revealed the real cause of the lingering crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking on Friday during a media chat in Port Harcourt, the governor said the crisis rocking the PDP was because it failed to zone the party’s presidential ticket to the South.

The Rivers governor said the opposition party caused the internal wrangling by leaving the ticket open for all to contest and ignorantly planted a seed of discord among party members.

Speaking further, Wike insisted that the embattled PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, must resign for the sake of equity since a northern presidential candidate has emerged.

Ayu Collected One Billion Naira From Presidential Aspirant In Lagos – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu took money from a presidential candidate in Lagos State.

The PDP chieftain who spoke on Friday challenged Ayu to deny the claims, noting that he has evidence. Wike, however, refused to mention the individual who Ayu collected the money from.

Wike who said he was hugely pained that he was unable to win the PDP’s presidential primary and go on to battle the All Progressives Congress, APC, said the money Ayu collected did not enter PDP‘s account.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has claimed that many political parties are wooing him ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Wike stated that other political parties have reached out to him because they want to get the vote of Rivers State.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has insisted that despite the disagreement with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he would support the candidate of his party, Atiku Abubakar.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has accused the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, of already sharing political positions in case the party wins next year’s election.

‘PDP Is Zero In Your State, You’re Threatening To Sanction Me’ – Wike Knocks Maina Waziri

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has knocked a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Adamu Maina Waziri, over threats to sanction him following the crisis in the party.

Naija News reports that Wike during a live media chat with select television stations in Port Harcourt on Friday opined that PDP has never won Yobe state since the inception of democracy in 1999.

According to him, the opposition party had always scored zero in elections in the state and one of the problematic people in PDP is from Yobe State.

When one of the journalists probed to know the name of the person, Wike called Maina Waziri, stressing that he has nothing to offer to the party.

Wike added that Maina has been calling for his sanction whereas he (Wike) had contributed a hundred percent to PDP’s growth unlike Waziri who has brought nothing to the table.

Atiku Can Kiss His Ill-Fated Presidential Bid Goodbye – APC Reacts To PDP Crisis

The All Progressives Congress, (APC), has reacted to the crisis plaguing the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP).

Naija News reports that the turbulence in the party began after its presidential primaries which produced Atiku Abubakar as the party’s flag bearer.

After Atiku chose Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate,/ things took a turn for the worse and Rivers state governor, Nyesome Wike who was a contender for the presidential candidacy demanded that the party’s chairman, Iyorchia Ayu resign from his position for peace to reign in the party.

Wike also said that Ayu promised to resign if a northerner emerged as the presidential candidate of the party but failed to keep his promise.

On Wednesday, after a stormy meeting in Port Harcourt, members of the Wike Group pulled out of the Atiku Presidential Campaign activities insisting that Ayu must leave his position.

In a media meeting on Friday, Wike proceeded to make various allegations against Atiku and Ayu, spilling various secrets and washing the party’s dirty linen in public.

Reacting to the turbulence, Director, Media and Publicity APC Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga said that the presidential ambition of Atiku has come to an end.
