Late MKO Abiola’s Widow To Remain In Prison Over Assault

The Chief Magistrate Court in Zone 6, Abuja has remanded Zainab Duke Abiola, a professor who earlier brutalized her orderly, in the Suleja Correctional Facility for an attempt to commit culpable homicide.

Recall, a viral video showed an operative of the Nigeria Police Force battered and bleeding after she was allegedly beaten up by the maids of a professor she was attached to in Abuja.

The assaulted officer told sympathizers that she was an orderly to one Prof. Dike Zainab who ordered her maids to deal with her.

The professor, who is a wife to the late MKO Abiola was immediately arrested and arraigned in court over the assault of her orderly, Inspector Teju Moses.

The police force then filed a suit against the legal practitioner and human right activist with offenses bordering on criminal conspiracy and causing criminal hurt without provocation and breach of trust.

Consequently, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in a short thread on the microblogging platform, Twitter, disclosed the court’s ruling to remand the professor to the Suleja Correctional facility.

The Command further disclosed that the case was adjourned to October 5 for the next hearing.
