Lagos traffic robber sent to prison weeks after regaining freedom

A site visitors robber arrested final week by the Lagos Speedy Response Squad (RRS) has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.

The RRS, in a press release on Tuesday, mentioned Lookman Ojo, 25, was apprehended early Friday morning at Ojota beneath bridge.

The convict and others have been caught whereas dispossessing a automotive driver of his belongings.

In September 2021, Ojo was nabbed for site visitors theft round Alapere, inward Ogudu. He was re-arrested 2 weeks after regaining freedom.

Ojo advised officers that apart from attacking occupants of pricey automobiles, he and colleagues rob motorists in Ojota, Mile 12 and Ketu.

“I’m a bus conductor and every time I’ve no bus to work with, I encourage for cash in site visitors. We gather cash from vans carrying items, wealthy women and men with flashy automobiles.

“Early within the morning and within the night, many people come to Ojota and Ketu to rob. I’m not the one one. Many people do it, we’re simply making an attempt to outlive”, he mentioned.
