The speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has called on the Qatari Government to make durable investment in the state.

Obasa assured the foreigners that their investment would be safe as the state takes seriously the protection of lives and property.

He said this at the Qatar-Nigeria Business Matchmaking Event on Wednesday.

Represented by Hon. Adewale Temitope, Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Transportation, the Speaker explained that Lagos State shares a symbiotic relationship with its investors as they have the needed manpower to get the job done while the investors have the resources.

He also advised that prospective investors to consider the health and transporting sector because of the government’s successful effort to create an enabling environment.

It is, therefore, going to be a symbiotic relationship between Qatar and Nigeria,” he said.

Speaking at the event, Ali Ghanem Al-Hajri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nigeria, said that the meeting would strengthen the bond between Nigeria and Qatar.

“We think this meeting to deepen bilateral relations to build an economic bridge between the two markets.

“Nigeria is the biggest market in West Africa, and there are lots of potentials and opportunities to deal with the Qatari market. I can see a huge economic bridge between the two countries,” Al-Hajri said.
