Kidnappers Kill Bauchi Lawmaker’s Son

Suspected kidnappers have killed the eldest son of the lawmaker representing the Dass constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Bala Ali.

The development was disclosed by the member of the house representing Burra Constituency, Ado Wakili, during the House’s sitting on Tuesday.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Danlami Ahmed Kawule presided over the Tuesday plenary.

Wakili while expressing his condolences to his colleague over the murder of his son, described the incident as tragic.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

The Speaker in his response directed that a special prayer be conducted for the deceased.

Bello Shira representing Shira Constituency led a special prayer.

The speaker announced that the lawmakers would pay a condolence visit to Ali and his family immediately after the plenary.

The Spokesperson for the Speaker of the House, Abubakar Suleiman, Abdul Burra said that the lawmaker representing Dambam/Zagaya/Jalam Constituency, Baballe Dambam while narrating what happened explained that the deceased was kidnapped by unknown people who held him for days and subsequently killed him.

According to Burra, the funeral prayers for the deceased have been held.

The spokesman for the Bauchi State Police Command, Amed Wakil, who confirmed the incident said the deceased’s two wives and one-year-old child were also abducted by the gunmen.

They were later released from captivity after several days in captivity.
