Just In: Army Rescues Another Chibok Schoolgirl, Now A Mother

The Nigerian Army on Thursday revealed that another kidnapped Chibok girl has been rescued from captivity.

According to the Nigerian Army, the rescued girl, Hauwa Joseph and her baby were found on Tuesday while on a patrol in Borno state and are currently in a military medical facility.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Nigerian Army said it found one Mary Ngoshe who is believed to be one of the girls kidnapped from GGSS, Chibok, in 2014.

Sharing a photo of Hauwa Joseph, the Nigerian Army via Twitter wrote; ”Troops during clearance operations on 14 June 2022 intercepted another abducted girl from GGSS Chibok named Hauwa Joseph, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram on 14 April 2014. The intercepted Chibok girl & her baby are currently in a military medical facility.”

Recall that about 276 students of Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, were kidnapped on April 14, 2014 by Boko Haram terrorists.

The abduction caused a stir worldwide, leading to calls for the return of the girls by global figures, including then First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.

Although a good number of the students have regained their freedom, about 100 are still believed to be in captivity.
