Jigawa APC Accuses Opposition Of Collecting PVCs

PDP members are looters, don’t vote them again – Abubakar

The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has raised an alarm over an alleged collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) of electorates by the opposition parties in the state.

Naija News gathered that the party disclosed that it has gotten reports that opposition parties in the state are involved in the collection of PVCs or voters’ serial numbers in exchange for promises ahead of the general election.

The information was disclosed by the state Governor Badaru Abubakar at a flag presentation event to APC candidates of the Jigawa South West Zone held in Jahun.

The governor, while speaking after presenting flags to APC candidates, noted that “There was a report reaching us that some supporters of the opposition parties are collecting voters’ cards or [their] serial numbers with a promise of employment or empowerment grant if elected.”

Abubakar, however, maintained that the promises given to the electorate in exchange for their PVCs or serial number on it were fake and against the provision of the electoral law.

He, therefore, advised electorates in the state to desist from such acts and be cautious of such politicians, who have no good for them.

The governor advanced that “You are living witnesses when they were in power only a few people enjoy the Sure-P programme but during our time almost everybody benefited from one or more government ‘s support and intervention.”

While urging electorates in the state to vote en mass for the APC at the forthcoming polls, he said no amount of criticism by the opposition would influence people not to vote for the party in 2023.
