ISIS leader, Ibrahim Qurayshi killed in raid by US special forces

Ibrahim Qurayshi, chief of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has been killed by US particular operations forces.

This was confirmed in a press release by US president, Joe Biden, on Thursday.

In accordance with Biden, Qurayshi was “eliminated” in a counterterrorism mission that occurred in a single day in north-western Syria.

“Final evening at my route, U.S. army forces in northwest Syria efficiently undertook a counterterrorism operation to guard the American folks and our Allies, and make the world a safer place.

“Because of the talent and bravado of our Armed Forces, we’ve taken off the battlefield Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi — the chief of ISIS.

“All Individuals have returned safely from the operation,” the assertion reads.

Qurayshi was named as ISIS chief, after the killing of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in October 2019 by US troops. Supply: BBC
