How We Defeated Germany In Word Cup Opener– Japan Coach

Japan stunned the football community and many observers on Wednesday when they defeated the German side by, 2 goals to 1.

The Asian side defeated Germany by coming back from 1-nil down at the Khalifa International stadium.

As a result of that, the Japanese side secured the first three points in the World Group E standings.

Recall that players substituted in the game provided Hajime Moriyasu’s men with a win against the Germans.

Speaking after the game, the Japanese coach saluted his country’s development in football, which he said has helped in building the players.

“I believe it is a historic moment and a victory, to say the least. If I’m thinking about the development of Japanese football, we are building up and players are going abroad,” he said

Moriyasu revealed after the game that the league games build his player’s ability which earned them the victory over Hansi Flick’s men.

“We believe those leagues have contributed to the ability of our Japanese players, so we are very grateful and respectful to that. But no matter the opponent, we go for the win.’ he added

“Many German people and so many brilliant players and trainers have contributed and helped us in Japanese football. Today Japan won. However, Japan wants to continue learning from Germany and the world to play. That’s our future idea.” he stressed.

The majority of the first half saw Japanese players struggle to come up with moves in the attack.

The squad didn’t begin to threaten Germany until after a few replacements.

The team’s expectations were, however, modified by Tomiyasu and Minamino in addition to Doan and Asano, who also scored the goals.

It could already be worth it to qualify for the next round of the tournament if Japan wins the next game against Costa Rica.

This coming Sunday, November 27, Japan will square off against Costa Rica, who were humiliated 7-0 by the Spaniards and will be hoping for a turnaround.
