Ondo: Two Killed As Gunmen Attack Community

The Oloso of Oso at Ajowa-Akoko, in Akoko North-West local government area of Ondo State, Oba Clement Jimoh Olukotun has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

Naija News learnt that the gunmen attacked the residence of the monarch around 10:15 pm on Thursday night and forcefully entered the palace of the monarch and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

It was reported that the gunmen gained access to his residence after destroying his door with gunshots.

A source that spoke on the incident with Leadership said the gunmen knocked on the door, but noticed that occupants were not ready to open, hence the need for them to shot the door.

According to the source, the sound of the gunshots caused pandemonium in the border town, as nobody could come to the rescue of the monarch.

The source said, “When they came, they surrounded the building and started ordering the monarch and other occupants to open the door and surrender willingly, but nobody answered. At this point, they started shooting.

“They destroyed the main door and entered. They terrorised Kabiyesi and his family members before dragging him out and took him away. None of the family members had been contacted, but we knew they were kidnappers.”

The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami.

Odunlami disclosed that operatives have been deployed to probe the attack.

The spokesperson said, “it is true but the details of the incident is still not clear. However, Police from the Divisional Police headquarters at Oke-Agbe, headquarters of Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State have been deployed in the town to launch an investigation into the incident.”
