Five Human Parts Dealers Confess To Exhuming Corpses From Graves In Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested five suspected human parts dealers, who specialize in exhuming corpses.

Naija News learnt that the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

The suspects, Oshole Fayemi (60), Osemi Adesanya (39), Ismaila Seidu (30), Oseni Oluwasegun (69), and Lawal Olaiya (50) were arrested at their hideouts on Saturday while planning to carry out an operation.

The police officers were said to have stormed the location of the gang following information received at the Odogbolu Divisional Headquarters that they were planning to carry out another round of human parts harvest.

Oyeyemi said the suspects were responsible for many corpses exhumed from graves within the Ososa community in the Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state for ritual purposes and have made confessional statements.

The police spokesman added that the state Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and possible prosecution.

Oyeyemi said, “Upon the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Odogbolu Division, CSP Godwin Idehai, mobilised his men and stormed the suspects’ hideout where five of them were apprehended.

“On interrogation, the suspects made confessional statements that they were into the business of exhuming corpses from their graves and that they used to sell parts of such corpses to their standby buyers who need them for money-making rituals.”
