FG appoints principals for unity schools, begins induction

Minister of Education, Prof. Adamu Adamu

The Federal Government has appointed 112 directors as principals of the nation’s unity schools.

An induction programme put together for the new principals begins in Abuja on Monday (today).

The exercise is expected to end on Friday.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that 344 directors jostled for the position of principals of the government-owned unity colleges.

The government had engaged the candidates in a computer-based test.

The latest circular sighted by our correspondent on Sunday showed that 112 of them scaled through the screening process.

The circular by the Federal Ministry of Education marked FME/S/1317/C.25/1 was signed by the ministry’s Director of Human Resource Management, David Gende.

“Following the successful conduct of Computer-Based Test and oral interviews for the appointment of principals in federal unity colleges, I am directed to invite the following principals to an induction/orientation training,” the circular read in part.
