On Thursday, Ekiti State’s former Governor, Ayodele Fayose, joined the campaign train of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to seek the support of Lagosians hours ahead of Saturday, March 18, governorship election.

Naija News understands that Sanwo-Olu was on last-minute campaign tours to parts of Lagos today.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate was at the airport with car hire associations this morning.

During the electioneering event, Sanwo-Olu assured the residents of the area that he would address their challenges if he is re-elected for a second term.

Addressing the people, Fayose appealed to the residents to be patient with Sanwo-Olu as he would fulfil his promises to them.

The former Governor of Ekiti was also heard in the video clip obtained by Naija News telling members of the car hire associations at the Lagos Airport that Lagos is a Yoruba land and urged them to vote Sanwo-Olu again.

Naija News reports that Sanwo-Olu will this weekend battle scores with his major rivals; Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) and Abdulazeez Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as electorates in the state are already divided by their convictions ahead of March 18.


Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the governorship and state assembly elections for Saturday, March 18, 2023, two weeks after the President and National Assembly elections.
