FA Cup: He runs around, shouldn’t wear club’s shirt – Tim Sherwood blasts Man Utd forward

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Tim Sherwood, has slammed Manchester United forward, Wout Weghorst, following the Red Devils’ FA Cup final 2-1 loss to Manchester City on Saturday.

Sherwood said that Weghorst runs around and should not be in a Manchester United shirt.

According to him, the 30-year-old lacks quality after Erik ten Hag’s side were beaten by Premier League champions at Wembley.

Weghorst came off the bench with 12 minutes of normal time to play, replacing Jadon Sancho, but was unable to help Man United to find an equaliser.

The Dutch star appears to have played his last game for Man United after arriving on loan from Championship winners Burnley in January until the end of the season.

“Wout Weghorst should not be in a Manchester United shirt,” Sherwood told Stadium Astro.

“He runs around and tries hard, but for me, he doesn’t have the quality. They are crying out for a centre-forward, and they need that as soon as possible.

“They have a lot of quality in other areas and wide players who can affect a game.

“But you need a focal point, someone who can hold up the ball and help Marcus Rashford out.”
