EPL: Rio Ferdinand snubs Ronaldo as he names best player in Premier League

Former England international defender, Rio Ferdinand has named Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, as the best player in the Premier League so far this season.

He made the choice following the Egyptian’s solo goal during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City on Sunday.

Salah has scored six goals in his opening seven Premier League matches and gave the Reds a 2-1 lead at Anfield on Sunday before Kevin De Bruyne’s equaliser.

And Ferdinand, a former Manchester United star, noted that there is no better player in the league than Salah right now.

“He’s the best player in the Premier League right now. It’s burning my chest talking like this about a Liverpool player,” he said on Vibe on Five.

“[His goal} was like being on FIFA, that chop, I’ve done that many times on Fifa where you pretend to whip it top corner and then you chop it back. Playground skills.

“Salah is scoring goals that is helping Liverpool win premier League and Champions League titles.

“What I like about Liverpool was they started terribly, and they reacted at half time, came out a different animal.

“The first half Liverpool couldn’t get out and City could have had 2 or 3 first half, I think City will be disappointed not to win and Liverpool happy with a draw.”
