Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said the team will accept whatever punishment is meted out to them from the Premier League for breaching financial rules.
Guardiola stated this on Friday while addressing the media ahead of this weekend’s clash against Aston Villa.
“Time will dictate what is going to happen. In case we are not innocent, we will accept what the judge or the Premier League decides.
“When UEFA charged us, it was the same. The same articles, the same accusations. We have been in the lower divisions. We will go back there, just in case.
“We will defend ourselves like what happened in the UEFA situation.”
City has been hit with over 100 charges relating to its finances.
The Premier League made the announcement on Monday, with the charges against City from 2009 to 2018.
If found guilty, champions face anything from fines to expulsion from the top flight.
