EPL: ‘It’s magic’ – Everton coach, Dyche reacts as his team escapes relegation

Everton coach, Sean Dyche, has insisted his team was not a broken club after guiding them to safety on the final day of the Premier League.

Dyche watched as Everton escaped relegation after beating Bournemouth 1-0 at Goodison Park.

A second-half goal from Abdoulaye Doucoure gave Everton the victory over Bournemouth.

The result against Bournemouth means Everton finished the season in 17th position with two points above the relegation zone as the likes of Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton all relegated to the Championship.

“Obviously, it means a lot,” Dyche told Sky Sports after the game.

“To me, I took over what they called a broken club. It is not broken. There are certainly cracks, but it is not broken. We have shown that fighting spirit we needed.

“Next season is going to be a big season. It’s a magic day, but at the end of the day we should not be in this shape.”
