Former England strikers, Gary Lineker and Ian Wright, have heaped praises on Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez after his impressive display in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Martinez helped Man United register their fourth win on the bounce in all competitions against Crystal Palace.
Two goals from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford ensured Erik ten Hag’s side defeated Palace at Old Trafford as Casemiro was given a red card during the encounter.
“That defender, man, Martinez at the back, he is something,” Wright told BBC Sport, speaking on Match of the Day.
On his part, Lineker added: “He’s gritty. Gritty. We saw a bit of that in Qatar [at the World Cup].”
