Enugu Guber: LP debunks rumours of partnership, says Edoga remains party’s candidate

The Labour Party, LP, has reiterated that Chijioke Edeoga remains its gubernatorial candidate for the March 18 election in Enugu State.

The announcement is contained in a press statement issued by the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure, on Wednesday.

Abure said the attention of the Party has been drawn to some attempts by some governorship candidates, who he described as “struggling candidates”, to tap into the anointing of Edoga as its candidate in the state.

He alleged that they go about disparaging Edeoga instead of selling their own candidacies.

Abure further warned that the Obidients and LP do not have any partnership with anybody or party, asking supporters to disregard any statements or moves by candidates to harvest where they did not sow.

The statement reads: “The National Chairman of Labour Party, Julius Abure has declared unequivocally that the Party’s Governorship candidate for Saturday’s election in Enugu State is Chijoke Edeoga.

“For the umpteenth time, we want to reiterate that in Enugu State, the Obidients do not have ANY partnership with anybody or party and direct all our Enugu State Obidients and teeming party supporters to disregard any statements or moves by candidates of other political parties to harvest where they did not sow. Our Candidate is HON. BARR. CHIJIOKE EDEOGA.”
