Matches between England and Italy have been pretty tight over the years, though the Azzurri hold a firm edge over the Three Lions in recent years.

Italy won the Euro 2020 final at Wembley on a penalty shootout after goals from Luke Shaw and Leonardo Bonucci forced extra time. Two Nations League games followed, ending 0-0 at Wembley and 1-0 to Italy in Milan thanks to Giacomo Raspadori’s 68th-minute winner.

England and Ukraine have faced off on eight occasions previously. The three Lions have won five of those games and lost only one – a 2010 World Cup qualifier in 2009.

The most recent meeting came at the 2020 European Championship, when England progressed to the semi finals with a crushing 4-0 win in the last eight.
