Ejimakor Discloses Reason For Continued Detention Of Nnamdi Kanu

Special counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Aloy Ejimakor has said that tribal politics is the reason for the continued detention of the agitator.

Speaking via a tweet, Ejimakor argued that tribal politics would end up tearing the country apart.

Quoting former president of the United States, Barack Obama, the lawyer noted that politics based on tribe and ethnicity would eventually destroy a country.

He stated that the politics holding down Kanu is not based on law but on tribe.

He wrote, “A politics that’s based on tribe and ethnicity is doomed to tear a country apart” – Barack Obama.

“The continued detention of #MNK is not based on law but on the same politics of tribe that will surely tear Nigeria apart, sooner than later. You can’t have it both ways. Never!”

Kanu had remained in detention since he was arrested in Kenya and repatriated to Nigeria.

He was arrested over his agitation for segregation and actualization of Biafra.

Will Igbos Take Over Lagos If Gbadebo Wins?

Meanwhile, Ejimakor has condemned the hostility meted out to Igbos in Lagos.

He fumed that Lagosians are of the belief that if the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, wins the Lagos election Igbos would take over Lagos simply because he is married to an Igbo woman.

Speaking via Twitter, he wondered the reason Kenyans did not take over America when Barrack Obama became president.

He wrote, “Obama, a Kenyan became US President; Kenyans didn’t takeover US. Sunak, an Indian is UK PM; Indians didn’t takeover UK. But if Gbadebo, a Yoruba wins Lagos guber, Igbos will takeover Lagos because he’s married to an Igbo. So, you want Igbos to leave Lagos.

“One Nigeria, ahoy!”
