Dozy Mmobuosi pledges to donate 10% of his net worth to the DM Foundation

The Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation hosted its official launch at London’s historic Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane highlighting its ambitions and programmes to-date and featured prestigious guests including global music sensation Akon.

11th September, London – saw the official launch of the Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane. Bringing together advocates for social empowerment, politicians and business leaders, the large event was a major success allowing for fruitful conversations on the importance of empowerment throughout the African continent.

The Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation’s efforts are spearheaded by Dozy Mmobuosi, CEO of Africa’s leading Agri-Fintech company, Tingo, Inc.

Projects undertaken by the Foundation to-date include a $10 million mobile prostate cancer screening service coordinated by Dr Segun Sanni, designed to help tackle Nigeria’s leading cause of cancer deaths for men which will see 1 in 6 diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.

The project has over 100 medical practitioners lined up currently, with an expected 4,000 medical professional volunteers set to join, and has received widespread praise from communities, politicians and business leaders alike.

The Foundation is also active in areas including education, empowerment and information technology.

Speaking just after the Foundation event, Dozy Mmobuosi said:

‘I am delighted that our Foundation is now fully operational and that so many great, influential people joined the team and I last night at an event highlighting our ongoing commitment to Africa. This is the beginning of an epic journey designed to lend a helping hand to those who need a lift up’.

Echoing this sentiment and speaking during the event itself, Senegalese-American singer Akon explained: ‘Life is like a hotel room. We are all just passing through. One should think about who else needs a room when we have enjoyed the best of it’.

Other guests in attendance included the Former Governor of Anambra State and Nigeria Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi; Supermodel and businesswoman, Naomi Campbell; Fashion Designer Ozwald Boateng; Former Malawi Diplomat to the European Union, James Woods; CEO of Invest Africa, Karen Taylor to name a few.

The event was hosted by British-Congolese Comedian, Eddie Kadi and Nigerian Musicians D’banj, Asa, The Cavemen and The Compozers gave thrilling performances.
