Deji Ayeni says his side can’t afford to start the second stanza of the season slowly, if they are to be among the best six teams.
Deyi Ayeni, Akwa United’s head coach, saw his team started the campaign with a home defeat to Bendel Insurance, but they recover quickly and ended the first stanza on high note.
“We started badly but did well to recover from the set back. It’s a thing of job to be among the best three in our Group after the first stanza.
“We are looking forward to the start of the second stanza and we can’t afford to be sloppy. It’s important to hit the ground running and fight for our objectives”
Akwa United will restart their season against Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan on March 26.
