Buhari Felicitates Gambari On 78th Birthday

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated his Chief of Staff (CoS), Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, as he clocked 78 years today, Thursday, November 24, 2022.

Naija News reports that the Kwara State-born academician and diplomat received salutations today from President Buhari, who described him as a man full of wisdom and experience.

The president, in a congratulatory message issued in Abuja through his spokesman, Femi Adesina, celebrated the former Minister of External Affairs, noting that Gambari’s congeniality, brilliance and rectitude, had continued to light his path as a scholar, publisher, international diplomat, and technocrat, with records of distinguished service in Nigeria and the United Nations (UN).

The Nigerian leader commended the CoS for the courage, experience, and wisdom he has brought to bear on the position and the difference made in government after serving as the longest Nigerian Ambassador to the United Nations.

Naija News understands that Gambari has served as UN Under-Secretary-General, first Special Adviser on Africa to the UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, and Joint African Union-United Nations Special Representative for Darfur.

He had served one-time Under-Secretary-General of the UN for Political Affairs, under Secretary-General Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-Moon.

President Buhari, in the birthday message to Gambari, acknowledged that the celebrant’s exemplary dedication to the nation’s growth, and many sacrifices for the benefit of Nigerians, would be cherished and documented for posterity.

President Buhari prayed for the well-being of Gambari and his family.
