Binani: ‘Results In Adamawa Has Made Today My Happiest Day In A Long Time’

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has reacted to the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State.

Naija News reports that the incumbent governor and PDP candidate, Ahmadu Fintiri emerged as the winner of the gubernatorial election held on March 18.

Fintiri, who was first elected governor in 2019, polled 421,522 to defeat his main challenger Aishatu Binani Ahmed of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 390,275.

The final decision was announced by the collation officer, Muhammad Laminu Mele, professor and deputy vice chancellor of the University of Maiduguri.

Many had thought that Binani would win the race after taking an early lead in the results collated.

Reacting to this, Reno Omokri via his social media page said PDP’s victory at the poll made today his happiest day in a long time.

He noted that Fintri contested the election against an overwhelming federal might and won, adding it was a well-deserved victory.

Sharing a photo of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Fintrin, Reno wrote: “The result in Adamawa has made today my happiest day in a long time. Congratulations Governor Umaru Fintiri.

“You ran against overwhelming federal might, and you won. A very sweet, hard won, and well deserved victory. My home state and my leader’s home state remain in the safe hands of PDP”
