Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Counsel to pro-Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu, has condemned the arrest of Nollywood veteran, Chiwetalu Agu by the Division of State Providers, DSS.
Ejiofor stated the arrest of Agu by the key police was a sign of how the Nigerian safety brokers are desecrating the Southeast.
The Nigerian Military had arrested the Nollywood actor for donning a Biafra regalia in Onitsha Anambra State.
Agu was arrested on Thursday in Higher Iweka Bridge by troopers whereas finishing up a charity train.
He was, nonetheless, launched by the Nigerian Military, and shortly afterwards, re-arrested by DSS operatives on Friday.
Reacting to the event, Ejiofor known as for the quick and unconditional launch of the 65-years-old actor.
He charged the navy to apologise to Agu for violating his elementary human rights.
In a press release he issued on Saturday, Ejiofor stated: “I used to be shocked to observe a revered elder and extensively celebrated Nollywood Veteran Actor, who has creditably distinguished himself within the business being dehumanized and handled like a typical legal. If I could ask, what offence has Agu dedicated to warrant being subjected to such humiliation, torture, inhumane remedy and degradation by those that is aware of little or nothing about our legal guidelines?
“Can these untamed males, recklessly abusing their workplaces inform us why they’re desecrating our elders and by extension the sacred land of our ancestors?
“Sadly, disturbing data reaching me few hours in the past is that Chief Chiwetalu Agu has been re-arrested by the DSS. We hereby demand for the quick and unconditional launch of Chief Chiwetalu Agu, from the custody of the DSS,” he added.
