Bauchi Governor Reveals Reasons He Wrote Letter To Ayu

2023: Details Of Meeting Between PDP NWC And Governorship Candidates Emerge

The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has revealed the real reason he wrote a letter to the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyorchia Ayu.

Naija News had reported that the governor had written a letter to Ayu over the alleged maltreating faced in the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

In a protest letter dated November 3, 2022, Mohammed claimed that he was excluded from the activities of the campaign council as it relates to his office and was not carried along on certain decisions.

Speaking with reporters when he received the PDP aggrieved governors at the Government House in Bauchi on Wednesday, Mohammed admitted that he wrote a letter to the party chairman.

The governor disclosed that the content of the letter was to intimate him about the opposition to his second-term ambition by some chieftains in the state loyal to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Mohammed added that the letter was to express his displeasure and that of the state chapter of the party about his alleged sideline from the PDP campaign council and the state at large.

Mohammed said that in response to the letter, the PDP leadership directed him to meet and discuss with Atiku in order to find an amicable resolution to the problem.

The governor, however, did not disclose whether he reconciled with Atiku, adding that they discussed extensively during their recent meeting in Abuja.

He said, “It is no longer news that I wrote a letter to the party on my position in Bauchi; what I have found out to be working against me as a leader and as a first-term governor going for my second term.

“I wrote it with all honesty and sincerity and with a deep sense of humility and that was why the party invited me to go and discuss it with the flag bearer of the PDP and leader, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and we discussed it extensively and I have gotten some explanations.

“The letter I wrote was not only written by me, but it was also written by the PDP family in Bauchi and the government of Bauchi and that was why I was there and we discussed extensively.”
