Barcelona director discusses Mohammed Kudus links

Barcelona director Jordi Cruyff has admitted that the club have been keeping a close eye on the development of Ghana star Mohammed Kudus.

The versatile 22-year-old has been one of the stars of this winter’s World Cup, already scoring twice for his nation in Qatar.

90min reported on Tuesday that several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, are interested in Kudus, while he is being eyed by a number of sides across Europe too.

Barcelona have been linked with a move for the Ajax man by the Spanish media, and commenting on this speculation, Cruyff revealed that he has been on their radar for some time.

“We’ve been tracking Mohammed Kudus for more than one year. We can’t say now that Barça want Kudus…but he’s attracting interest,” Cruyff told RAC1.

“He’s scoring goals and in Holland they discuss a lot about his position, so yes – I know him well.”

Kudus has only recently nailed down a place in Ajax’s starting lineup and has been used in several different positions this season, including in central midfield, on the wing and up front.

He has scored 10 goals in 21 games at club level this term – including four in the Champions League group stage – with most of those coming when deployed as a striker.
