The Tutorial Workers Union of Universities, ASUU, could quickly shut down all public universities over the shortcoming of the Federal Authorities to implement agreements the 2 events entered into in December 2020, which led to the suspension of a nine-month extended strike.
NAIJATABLOID recollects that the union shut down tutorial actions in public universities in March 2020 throughout an indefinite strike which lasted until December when the Memorandum of Motion (MoA) was signed as FG agreed to satisfy their calls for.
Nevertheless, 12 months after the economic motion was suspended, ASUU has accused the Federal Authorities of failing to fulfil its aspect of the settlement and threatened to mobilise for an additional strike instantly.
The union, in late 2021, launched into session amongst its members nationwide to resolve whether or not to close down tutorial actions over alleged negligence by the federal government.
However lectures and different actions have continued within the universities till date amid experiences that the union and the FG, on October 18, reached an settlement on the N22.17 billion earned allowances and N30 billion revitalisation fund for public universities.

In response to him, if the Federal Authorities fails to do the needful, indefinite strike can be inevitable. He lamented how the Federal Authorities ignored the implementation of some agreements the 2 events entered into in 2020.
He acknowledged that after the assembly, members of the union would embark on sensitizing most people and college students on the problems and its penalties if the federal government fails to behave shortly.
He mentioned, “We declared Monday a lecture-free day in a few of our branches as a result of we’re going to be having conferences in these locations.
