Aregbesola Shuns Osun Governorship Election, Flies To Germany

The Minister of Interior and former Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola has shunned the governorship election in the state.

According to Daily Trust, Aregbesola who is at loggerhead with the current Governor of the state and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gboyega Oyetola is currently in Germany.

It was gathered that the minister would not be participating in voting in his polling unit in Ilesha.

A media aide to Aregbesola, Jane Osuji disclosed that the former Governor of Osun State is currently not in the country.

Osuji further stated that the Minister of Interior is in Germany representing Nigeria at a programme.

Some of his aides who spoke on the minister’s availability, however, said he would vote before voting ended.

The media aide to Aregbesola, Sola Fasure disclosed that the former Governor of Osun State is not in Osun to vote because of restrictions on movement.

According to Fasure, the minister had another official engagement.

The state Governor, Oyetola is contesting against the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke and 13 other governorship candidates.

The governorship election is taking in 3,763 polling units across 332 registration areas in 30 local government areas of the state.
