APC’s Tinubu Meets Ibikunle Amosun, Senator Odebiyi [Photo]

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday hosted a former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun at his residence.

Naija News reports that Amosun, who is the Senator representing Ogun Central, was accompanied to Tinubu’s residence by his former Chief of Staff and Senator representing Ogun West, Tolu Odebiyi.

Though reasons behind the meeting have not been made known at the time of filing this report, sources told Daily Post that it might have to do with Tinubu’s presidential ambition, especially as the party prepares for the campaigns.

Recall that Amosun who contested for the APC presidential ticket against Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Rotimi Amaechi, and others, had stepped on the night of the primary, asking his supporters to back Tinubu.

However, Amosun is reportedly against the re-election of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, an ally of Bola Tinubu.

Many of Amosun’s loyalists in the South-West state have since pitched their tents with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate in the state, Ladi Adebutu.

Amosun and Tinubu

Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has said his APC counterpart, Bola Tinubu is like a brother to him.

Obi, while speaking during an interview with Chude Jidenowo, praised the APC flagbearer for his contributions to Nigeria in the past.

However, he insisted that Tinubu time has passed and it is time for someone else to take over.

He argued that the fact that Tinubu had contributed in the past to making Nigeria better does not mean he should be in power forever.

To elaborate his point, he spoke about the Brazilian footballer, Pele who was a star during his time but it would be impossible for him to be fielded in a present match.
