Former Manchester United midfielder, Roy Keane has told his old club and Chelsea to allow Brighton’s Evan Ferguson to develop and gain more experience at his current club.
The Republic of Ireland international is currently one of the best young strikers in the Premier League this season, scoring seven goals in 16 games for the Seagulls this season.
He also scored on his full international debut for the Republic of Ireland in their Euro 2024 qualifier against Latvia on Thursday and is likely to start against France on Monday.
Apart from Manchester United and Chelsea, Tottenham are also thought to be admirers but Keane feels he should not be rushed to leave Brighton.
“When a young player like that comes along you’ve got to get excited. But you’ve got to give the kid a chance to mature.
“It’s been a great start for him though, I’m delighted for him. He seems like a nice kid,” Keane told The Overlap.
