4 policemen on stop-and-search responsibility within the outskirts of Enugu metropolis have been shot useless by armed hoodlums.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 3pm on Saturday in Obeagu neighborhood, alongside Amaechi-Ekeotu-Agbani City Highway, leaving the highway abandoned until 7pm.
The newest assault is coming barely two days after some safety officers had been killed in Enugu State.
Confirming the event, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, who didn’t give the variety of casualties mentioned, “Police operatives have been duly deployed and are on the path of the unknown armed assailants.
“You can be up to date with additional improvement, please,” he added.
A few of the tricycle operators plying the highway, who spoke on situation of anonymity, instructed NAN that armed hoodlums got here in a Sienna automobile and a Lexus Jeep and opened fireplace on the unsuspecting policemen on responsibility. Supply: NAN
