The Oyo State chapter of the Accord Party has lost a house of a representative candidate contesting at the 2023 general elections.

Naija News gathered that the deceased Jacob Funmi Ogunmola is said to be the party’s candidate running for Atisbo/Saki East/Saki West Federal constituency.

Available information from saki indicates that Ogunmola, an ex-Chairman of Atisbo local government, died a few hours after attending a function in the town.

Sources say he complained of not feeling well after the function he had attended in Saki.

According to one of the sources, Ogunmola gave up the ghost when he was being rushed from Saki, where he is based to Lagos for prompt medical attention.

Naija News understands that the deceased performed his last social media activity when he posted on his Facebook campaign page, where he apologised to his host that he was sorry for being late to the function and that it wasn’t in his character, but then he had a crisis to attend to.

Ogunmola’s successor as council chairman, Wasiu Owolabi, was reported to have also died in an auto accident a few months ago.
