2023 Polls: APC guber candidate, Nwifuru in early lead, as opposition alleges irregularities

The governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru is in the early lead in the ongoing governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

Nwifuru scored a high margin in the 7 local government areas, so far declared by the Ebonyi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Pauline Ugochi Onyeka.

As declared by INEC, in Ezza North LGA; APC scored 3285 votes; APGA – 16765, LP 454, NNPP 33 and PDP 2344.

Registered voters were 109285 while accredited voters were 23619, valid votes are 23105, rejected votes, 514 and the total votes cast equalled 23619.

In Ebonyi LGA; APC scored a total of 20876 votes, APGA got 3221 votes, LP – 543, NNPP 79 while PDP scored 3056 votes.

The Registered voters were 130082 and the accredited voters at 28393.

The total valid votes recorded were 27971. Rejected votes, 415 and the total votes cast were 28386.

In Afikpo South Local Government; APC 14564, APGA 824, LP 504, NNPP 81 while PDP scored 4770 votes.

The Registered voters are 92133 and the accredited voters are 21436. The total Valid votes are 21036, rejected votes 400 and the total votes cast, 21436.

In Onicha LGA; APC scored a total 5140 votes, APGA got 1854 votes, LP 651, NNPP 16, PDP scored a total of 15503 votes.

The total number of registered voters were 124393, accredited voters at 249095, valid votes is 23412, rejected 502, and the total votes cast is 23914.

In Ohaukwu local government area; APC scored a total of 15811 votes, APGA- 1835, LP- 664, and NNPP 36 while PDP scored a total of 8738 votes.

The Registered voters, 156903 and accredited voters, 28214.

The total valid votes are 27371 votes, rejected votes are 843 and the total votes cast is 28214.

In Abakaliki LGA; APC scored a total of 22773 votes, APGA – 4646, LP -754, NNPP – 43 and PDP scored 5039 votes.

The registered voters are 162284, the accredited is 34009. The total valid votes is 33507, rejected votes is 499 while the total vote cast is 34006.

In Ezza South LGA; APC scored a total of 8107 votes, APGA- 8570, LP- 198, and NNPP- 45 while PDP scored 4086 votes.

The registered voters, 100619, and accredited voters, 21882. The Total valid votes are 2168, rejected votes is 699, and the total vote cast is 21867.

DAILY POST reports that many polling Units and wards were cancelled in most local government areas, as a result of over-voting, disruption of election by thugs, killings and attacks on some INEC ad-hoc staff in the state.
