2023: Peter Obi Was Not Genuinely In The Race To Win, He Was Wike’s Pawn

'Wike And I Are Close, He Supported Me'

A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank has claimed that the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi was a pawn used by the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

Frank noted that the Rivers Governor is playing games that could ignite crisis between the Northern and Southern part of Nigeria.

Naija News reports that Wike has continuously mocked the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar over his loss in the 2023 presidential election.

Reacting to Wike’s taunts via a statement on Monday, Frank called on the presidency and other leaders of thought across the country to call the governor to order.

He noted that Wike’s latest outburst on having drinks while he watched Atiku’s protest at the premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirms that Peter Obi was not genuinely in the race to win the presidency but was used by forces known to Wike to play a spoiler’s game against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

He quoted Wike as reportedly saying Obi was his hero of the just concluded presidential election, however he openly supported the presidency of the All Progressives Congress.

He accused Wike of celebrating a fraudulent and controversial presidential election victory as if the South has just defeated the North, hence the need to call him to order.

He said, “Let me use this medium to call on the Presidency, religious leaders, including leaders of thought, the security agencies to call Governor Wike to order before he ignites a political crisis between the North and South, especially as most Nigerians are still bitter about the outcome of the Presidential election which has been adjudged to be massively rigged.

“It has been on record that since Wike lost his presidential bid to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who is more experienced than him, the bitter Rivers State Governor had put on the garment of hate against the North while hiding under the toga of Southern presidency.”
